Ian Taylor, Chief Executive

Ian started his career with British Airways and then joined Virgin Atlantic as one of the first Managers in Engineering. He progressed to GM level, building his team to over 300 staff. In 2000 Ian left Virgin to join an aircraft leasing company as Senior VP where he was heavily involved in projects throughout the world; this included a year commuting to the USA. In 2004 Ian became a founder director of Vueling Airlines, a low cost airline based in Barcelona and now one of the largest low cost airlines in Europe. In 2010 he returned to the UK to take up the position of Managing Director at Line Up. In May 2011 Ian completed the acquisition of Line Up Ltd (trading as Line Up Aviation) and became Chief Executive of the Line Up Group. Ian brings a wealth of aviation experience and contacts to the company and is now focused on developing strong organic growth using the latest technology whilst maintaining the traditional values established by Line Up when it was first founded in 1987. Ian spends his leisure time racing a motorbike around Sussex’s moto-cross circuits, he is also a keen snowboarder.

Matthew Allsop, Financial Director

Matthew joined Lloyds Bank after graduating in 1984. He progressed rapidly, from Assistant Branch Manager to Branch Manager and then Business Banking Manager. In 1999 Matthew joined Line Up as Financial Controller and in May 2011 was promoted to Financial Director and Company Secretary. He brings over 10 years experience in providing payroll solutions for the supply of personnel for management, maintenance and engineering positions around the world. He has worked heavily in Switzerland, Germany, Italy, Canada and Singapore and has helped secure for Line Up either labour leasing licences or representative offices in those countries in support of the payroll solutions offered. Matthew enjoys walking, exploring most parts of our beautiful Sussex countryside.

Nick Stocker – Group Operations Officer

Nick started his professional life in The Royal Marines fulfilling a number of roles as a commissioned officer throughout his 8 year service. On leaving the service Nick worked initially for Royal and Sun Alliance and subsequently accepted a consulting role with Control Risks in Brazil which involved blue chip client development and management of operations. Following a successful 2 years in Brazil, he returned to the UK to take up a management role with NES Global Talent – an independent Global Oil & Gas Recruitment company. His responsibilities included international expansion in Angola, Nigeria, Brazil and the Middle East. Nick has joined the team  as Group Operations Officer charged with the responsibility of expanding the Line Up Group brands both domestically and internationally where his experience in the recruitment sector, particularly in the fields of operational management, international expansion and client development will be brought to bear. Interested in all sports, Nick enjoys a physically active lifestyle through Crossfit and rugby coaching with the demands of an active young family.

Tim Smith – Sales Manager

Tim Smith joined Line Up Aviation as a recruitment consultant and he has recently been promoted to Sales Manager due to his success at Line Up Aviation. Tim brings with him a wealth of sales knowledge which he has gained from his 15 years experience in Sales and Account Management. In his spare time Tim particularly enjoys running and training for marathons and will be running the next London marathon. Tim is also the First Team Manager at Horsham Rugby Club!

Stuart Moss – General Manager Ground Operations

Stuart has worked in the recruitment industry for over 25 years and has specialised in a number of sectors ranging from Aviation, Rail, Warehousing/Logistics and Distribution. Having worked with many of the largest Ground Handling Agents in the world Stuart has built up a very solid reputation in this arena. Stuart has a strong passion for the aviation industry which he brings to the Line Up Group as General Manager of the Ground Operations Division. Having been trained as a chef he retains his passion for fine food and loves being in the kitchen, preparing a full “Gordon Ramsey” style menu.

Fernanda Araujo – Manager South America

Fernanda Araujo grew up and studied in Brazil where she gained a degree in Business Administration and worked as a business consultant, she then moved to Mexico for a university internship before moving to England in 2013. Fernanda is fluent in English, Portuguese and Spanish. In her free time Fernanda enjoys playing badminton and speaking with her family and friends back home.

Julie Hall – Corporate Services & Executive Search

Julie started her career as an Accountant in a Chartered Accountancy. Whilst seeking a new role, she took a change of direction and joined a specialist accountancy consultancy moving into the world of recruitment and sales thereafter. Julie has over 15 years’ experience placing high calibre candidates across a number of sectors. Her success stems from building long term relationships based on honesty, integrity and professionalism. Several years ago Julie took a 5 year sabbatical to travel the world and still retains her passion for travel, cultures and cuisine. She is also an amazing baker much to the delight of her work colleagues!
