| Duties |
Scope
Reporting to the Senior GM Operations, the General Manager Engineering is the manager with overall responsibility for setting-up, orchestrating, coordinating and managing all engineering and technical aspects of the Company’s International long-haul operational activities.
These duties include, but are not limited to: the management of all aircraft engineering including supervision and auditing of service providers; implementation of any servicing bulletins, Airworthiness Directives or OEBs; the scheduling of long term maintenance checks; supervision of all technical procurement; provision and management of aircraft IFE software and hardware; project management of the technical aspects of entry into service of additional aircraft; management of contactors for seat and IFE support; technical aspects of maintaining the aircraft interior.
The General Manager Engineering is required to coordinate with and give assistance, where necessary, to his engineering counterparts.
He is also responsible for the day-to-day leadership and management of all personnel in his department, directing policies and procedures for efficient handling of aircraft and passengers in-line with the Company’s standards and procedures.
Remit of the Role / Function
1. Ensuring that Direct Reports’ duties are clearly understood and discharged by the relevant individuals.
2. Responsible for budgeting and controlling capital expenditure for the client's International’s engineering/technical department.
3. Responsible for training of staff to manage budget and reduce costs without compromising safety or on-time performance.
4. Monitor and re-evaluate all technical contracts and service level agreements (SLAs) with each provider and customer related to the client's International’s operations.
5. Specify and develop engineering facilities to meet the future expansion needs of the Company.
6. Actively participate in obtaining IOSA (International Air Transport Association, IATA, Operational Safety Audit) certification for the Company’s operations.
7. Setting performance targets for each staff member in relation to production and accuracy.

| Qualifications |
Engineering Management Experience, with the ability to be a Part M Post Holder
Educated at University Level or equivalent vocational qualification.
Advanced Computer skills e.g. Outlook, Word, Excel, Powerpoint
