Scope
Whilst administered by the local Airport Services Manager (ASM), the Catering & In Flight Product Officer (CIFPO) will report to the Catering Services Manager (CSM).
The Catering & In Flight Product Officer (CIFPO) is to support and assist the CSM in managing and delivering the in flight catering operations functions of the company at his/her respective station.
Remit of the Role / Function
Oversee the Catering & Cabin Services operation at his/her respective station.
Ensure that the policies of in-flight services, food supply and equipment uplifts are carried out in accordance with schedules and company manuals.
Ensure that standards are maintained within the area of jurisdiction.
Monitor performance of suppliers of goods and other services provided for in-flight services within the area of jurisdiction.
Work closely with all departments within the Clients International divisions.
Main Duties & Accountabilities
Ensure that all on/off schedule flights are catered and equipped to the client’s standards at all times.
Liaise with catering and cabin service contractors to ensure they understand and fulfill their obligations.
Establish in conjunction with CSM that equipment and bond allocations are according to schedules.
Ensure that contractors provide correct monthly equipment and bond inventory returns.
Ensure that Hygiene standards are maintained in accordance with the Client & local government regulations.
Certify invoices to verify catering uplifts and other supplies are in accordance with catering uplift schedules. This will be in conjunction with ASM’s at their stations.
Liaise with HQ for any additional or off schedule operations and arrange catering uplifts accordingly.
Monitor monthly meal wastage reports in conjunction with APM’s at their stations.
Submit reports on hygiene/catering performance/equipment, bond and cabin item issues under their control.
Liaise with newspaper and magazine suppliers for the provision of in-flight reading material in accordance with levels and schedules set by the In Flight Services department.
Assist where required in the clearance of in-flight products from cargo/freight handling companies.
Maintain in-flight service manuals and food specification manuals which are standard reference books.
Assist in the compiling catering and other cost analysis data within the in-flight catering department.
Ensure price lists and accounts files are maintained in accordance with the Client’s Accounts and Audit requirements.
Other Areas of Responsibility
Attend meetings to represent the in-flights services department.
Supervise and motivation of subordinate & contract staff.
Keep abreast of in-flight developments, product availability, new product development and other airline trends that may affect or help improve the Client’s in-flight service product.
Ensure that the Client complies with all local and legal Customs requirements and regulations within the different countries.
Any other task/duties that may be required on a day to day basis.
