Our client has an opportunity for a Test Systems Product Safety Engineer to join them on a contract basis for an initial 6-months with potential to travel. You will be taking charge of identifying and managing Product Safety requirements derived from hazard and risk assessments.
Role: Test Systems Product Safety Engineer
Location: Stevenage, 2-3 days onsite per week
Hours: 37 per week
Clearance: BPSS required to start. Full SC to follow
Hourly Rate: Up to £55ph via Umbrella, inside IR35
What you’ll be doing:
- Taking charge of identifying and managing Product Safety requirements derived from hazard and risk assessments
- Collaborating in line with Project Safety Management Plans
- Shaping the development of safe design through logical safety arguments, including comprehensive Safety Case justification reports
- Facilitating hazard identification meetings and maintaining an up-to-date project hazard log
- Conducting peer reviews and performing verification and assurance tasks to validate the robustness of the Safety Case and its supporting documentation
Requirements:
- In-depth understanding of engineering safety management processes, including hazard analysis and safety case reports
- Solid grasp of safety principles within systems engineering and their integration into effective engineering processes
- Proven experience in creating detailed justification reports
- Strong knowledge of Safety Engineering principles and practices
Desirable
- Familiarity with systems engineering tools and techniques (e.g., DOORS, Enterprise Architect)
- Experience in a defence or complex systems environment involving software products
- Knowledge of JIRA
