INTRODUCTION

This Contractor Handbook establishes policies, procedures, and working conditions that will be followed by all Contractors as a condition of their engagement. It describes the expected actions and behaviours of Contractors while conducting assignments on behalf of Line Up Ltd (” the Company”).

This Contractor Handbook is not a contract for services, nor is it intended to create contractual obligations for the Company of any kind.

The policies and procedures outlined in this Handbook will be applied at the discretion of the Company. The Company reserves the right to deviate from the policies, procedures, benefits, and working conditions described in this handbook. Furthermore, the Company reserves the right to withdraw or change the policies, procedures, and working conditions described in this Handbook at any time, for any reason, and without prior notice.

The Company will make every effort to notify contractors when an official change in policy or procedure has been made but Contractors are responsible for their own up-to-date knowledge about the Company’s policies, procedures, and working conditions which are available on the Company’s website (www.luap.com). No provision in this Handbook can be waived without written permission from a Company Director. Such a waiver, if granted, applies only to the Contractor for whom the waiver was granted at the time of the waiver.

The objective of these policies, procedures and working conditions provide a work environment in which both client interests and Contractor-interests are served. The Company values the talents and abilities of its contractors and seeks to foster an open, cooperative, and dynamic environment in which contractors and the Company alike can thrive.

PERSONAL BEHAVIOUR & RESPONSIBILITIES

Confidentiality

Your contract for services contains detailed and specific rules relating to confidentiality.  Failure to comply will be treated as gross misconduct.

Holiday Entitlement

As a Contractor paid by the Company under PAYE your holiday entitlement is detailed in the contract for services supplied.

The Holiday year is as per the calendar year.  If you work a part year your holiday entitlement will be pro rata to the number of weeks worked. Holidays should be taken in the qualifying year.  There will be no compensation for holidays not taken.

Medical/dental Appointments

You should give reasonable notice to your line manager if you need to be absent in order to attend a medical or dental appointment.

Holiday will be required to cover the time you will be absent.

Probation

All new Contractors will automatically be on a probation period.  Details are contained in the contract for services.

The full extent of the disciplinary procedure does not apply within the probationary period, you will however be entitled to a formal meeting with your manager and a right to appeal against any dismissal within your probationary period.

The appeal will be heard by someone other than your immediate manager and will usually be someone senior to themselves.

Sickness

Details regarding notification requirements and payments for sickness absence are contained in the contract for services.

PAY & FINANCE

Pay Day

Your salary is paid either weekly or monthly as stated in your assignment details provided along with your contract for services.

Pensions

The Company uses the scheme run by NEST for statutory pension scheme contributions.

You will be automatically enrolled in this scheme after 3 months and contributions will be made based on your qualifying earnings.

If you do not wish to be a part of the scheme you must ‘opt-out’.  The Company cannot do this on your behalf.
