Aircraft Mechanic (Day and Night Shifts available)

4 on, 4 off shift

  • Days (07:00 – 19:00)
  • Nights (19:00 – 07:00)
  • Permanent, Full-Time
  • South-East England

A globally recognised aerospace organisation is seeking experienced Aircraft Mechanics to join its Part 145 operation in the South-East of England.

This role is ideally suited to:

  • Experienced aircraft mechanics with c. 5 years experience, or;
  • Ex-military fixed-wing/rotary technicians, or;
  • Skilled MRO professionals

Who are looking to work in a premium business aviation line & base maintenance environment with modern aircraft and excellent facilities.

You will play a key role in the inspection, fault diagnosis, repair, and modification of aircraft systems and structures, working alongside certifying engineers within a high-performing team.
Training will take place on day shift for the night shift option.

Main Responsibilities:

Mechanical Maintenance & Diagnostics

  • Carry out detailed inspections, fault finding, and rectification across whole aircraft
  • Perform modifications and upgrades in line with engineering data and regulatory requirements
  • Interpret diagrams and technical publications confidently
  • Support aircraft functional testing and, where required, flight test activities

Documentation & Compliance

  • Accurately complete work packs, CMP cards (Configuration, Maintenance, and Procedures), and maintenance records
  • Ensure all work complies with UK CAA / EASA Part 145 regulations and company procedures
  • Maintain full traceability on tracking software, and adhere to quality standards

Team & Operational Support

  • Provide guidance and informal mentoring to junior technicians and fitters
  • Support aircraft movement and ground operations

Safety & Environment

  • Operate ground support equipment safely and effectively
  • Maintain high standards of housekeeping using Lean / 6S principles
  • Promote a strong safety culture and report hazards proactively

Ideal candidate profile:
We are particularly keen to hear from candidates with:

  • Proven experience in aircraft mechanical maintenance (civil or military). C. 5 years.
  • Background within a Part 145 MRO or military aviation environment (RAF, Royal Navy, Army Air Corps, or equivalent)
  • Completed aerospace apprenticeship or military technical training
  • Working knowledge of UK CAA / EASA regulations and maintenance documentation
  • GCSE English & Maths grade C/ grade 4 or above, or equivalent

Highly desirable:

  • Previous business aviation or corporate jet experience
  • Experience supporting certification or release-to-service activities
