Permanent Aircraft Wheel Technician opportunity available on the west side of Essex. Workshop based role. Start ASAP!
My well-established client is seeking someone with 6 months’ minimum wheel overhaul experience to join their busy team.
Weekday working hours. 3 day weekend every second week!
Role: Aircraft Wheel Overhaul Mechanic
Location: Essex (West)
Salary: From £14.77+ per hour depending on experience (= from £29,953 per annum). Overtime available at x1.5.
Hours: 07:30-17:00 Mon-Thurs. 07:30-13:30 every other Friday. Average 39 hours per week.
Main responsibilities:
- Disassembly of aircraft wheels
- Technical cleaning of all wheel components
- Paint stripping
- Corrosion removal & bearing cup replacement
- Reassembly of wheels, mounting of aircraft tyres including torquing, inflation and pressure testing.
- Occasional similar work on aircraft brake units
- Reading and understanding of component maintenance manuals and following technical instructions.
Ideal candidate profile:
- Some previous wheel experience
- Ability to use hand tools safely and accurately follow instructions
- Fluent oral and written English.
- Must already hold the right to live and work in the UK at the time of application. No sponsorships can be provided now, or in the future.
