My client is looking for an Aviation Machine Borer to join on them on a permanent basis. As an Aviation Machine Borer, you will be responsible for r operating and maintaining boring machines to produce precision aircraft components within specified limits. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of machining processes, a keen eye for detail, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment in the Machine shop.

Role: Aviation Machine Borer – Permanent Role
Pay: From £31,400 per annum plus shift allowance
Location: West London
Hours: Monday to Friday 6am – 2pm and 2pm -10pm and flexibility to include overtime at weekends
Candidates must have the right to live and work in the unrestricted.

Job Profile

  • To operate all types of boring machines to fine limits.
  • To be able to work on own initiative.
  • To be able to read and understand technical drawings.
  • To take responsibility of work and others.
  • To have an understanding of types of horizontal boring practices.
  • To be able to measure in imperial.
  • To work in accordance company with procedures/ OHM/ CMM/ SOPM.
  • An awareness and understanding of responsibilities outlined in the Company’s environmental procedures.
  • You will be required to maintain Practical Experience Record (PER) book.
  • You may be required to train personnel with a specified area subject to your qualifications and experience.
  • All duties shall be undertaken in compliance with Safety and Environmental Regulations and Company Procedures
  • Strong initiative and problem-solving skills
  • Analytical and PC literate with good planning and organizational skills
  • Effective communicator at all levels of management
  • Ability to perform under pressure and make decisions
  • Willingness to learn and improve, and contribute to a positive working environment as a team player

Skills/Experience Required

  • Machining Background essential.
  • Experience working Knowledge of horizontal boring machines Desirable.
  • IT knowledge
  • Trained in Machine Shop technology and working practices.
  • Aerospace background desirable but not essential.
  • Some Knowledge of CNC Machining desirable but not essential
  • Flexible working hours including overtime at weekends
  • Exposure to greases and oils
  • Training and use of overhead cranes
  • Understanding of manual handling
  • Use of hand tools and power tools
  • Use of ovens and complex machinery
  • Ability to maintain a clean and tidy working area to a 5s standard

Education & Training

  • Essential – Strong experience in a similar role
  • Educated to at least GCSE level or equivalent
  • Ability to communicate fluently in written and spoken English
