Our client has an opportunity for a Wing airframe Research and Technology DMU Integration Specialist until the end of 2026.

Role: Wing airframe Research and Technology DMU Integration Specialist
Location: Filton – 60% onsite
Hours: 35 per week
Hourly Rate: £40 per hour via Umbrella, inside IR35
Clearance: BPSS required before starting

What you’ll be doing:

  • The Wing R&T team, based in Filton, UK, is currently working on a number of exciting projects including Wing of Tomorrow and Folding Wing.
  • As a CAD/DMU Integration Specialist, you will play a crucial role in Leading, developing and validating DMUs for the Wing Airframe R&T Department.
  • It will bring you into contact with numerous stakeholders and this role requires a blend of technical expertise, project management skills, and a deep understanding of the aviation industry.
  • You will be operationally responsible for ensuring that the wing airframe R&T wing design team have a real time DMU, data exchange of DMU aligned to export rules, performing DMU Quality Checks, performing clash checks and follow up, creation and maintenance of the Product Structure and ensure processes and tools are functioning as needed.
  • The span and the variety of projects ongoing in the R&T perimeter offer great opportunities for technical and leadership development.

Requirements:

  • Strong experience with Catia V5 for the creation & validation of 3D models (including System Installation). Experience with 3Dx and exposure to DMUi & SSCI activities would be an added advantage.
  • Knowledge on Aircraft build process and basic understanding of Aircraft systems.
  • Experience in handling PDM/VPM tools and link to CAD models with design in a context environment.
  • Good understanding of Aircraft Function, Operation & Processes.
  • Very good communication and presentation skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with changing priorities and requirements.
  • An appreciation of composite design and manufacturing considerations.
  • An innovative mindset and a natural curiosity about new technology.
