Our client is a renowned and long-established transport and logistics specialist with an extensive worldwide network. As part of their ongoing commitment to providing excellence in everything they do, the company delivers customised, reliable, and cost-effective solutions. Due to a recent surge in business activity our client is now looking for a Customer Sales Solutions Clerk to join the existing team at the company’s Liverpool office.

Responsibilities:

Reporting to the Branch Manager, the objective of the CSS Desk is to ensure that all rate enquiries are responded to within time limits and that all requests are recorded and monitored, so that the best pricing levels are always provided to the customers and network. In addition, you will:

  • Provide an excellent and personalised service, making every client feel unique
  • Impart skills, knowledge, and experience to the team
  • Be Multimodal across Ocean Imports, Ocean Exports, LCL, FCL, Rail Imports & Rail Cross Trade

Your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

  • Be the initial point of contact for the quotations, ensuring that all requests are responded to within 4 hours
  • Dealing with Shipping lines, NVOCC’s and Consolidators to provide choices and services
  • Managing, following up, measuring, and analysing all quote requests
  • Assisting Product Managers with spot pricing for the sales team
  • Taking financial responsibility for costs and revenue
  • Collaborating with the team to ensure consistent and uninterrupted service to the client and their customers
  • Communicating with customers from day one, through phone and e-mail
  • Ensuring all enquiries and communications are actioned promptly and efficiently
  • Ensuring consistent and uninterrupted service to the client and their customers
  • Maintaining mailboxes
  • Collaborating within a multifunctional team to offer the best client solutions
  • Any other delegated tasks as deemed reasonable as assigned by the reporting superior

Required Skills and Experience:

  • Knowledge and understanding of Air freight, Sea freight, Road freight- inbound, outbound, and cross trade
  • Knowledge of Airfreight, ocean, road, and rail pricing (import, export, and cross trade)
  • Knowledge of and understanding of our Aerospace vertical
  • Excellent ICT skills
  • Excellent presentation with an ability to present to customers
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
  • A friendly, calm, and professional manner
  • Ability to work to tight time constraints
  • Enthusiastic, flexible, and self-motivated
  • Well organised with the ability to work closely with internal departments
  • Ability to be flexible and work out of hours when required
