My client is looking for a Financial Accountant to join on them on a 12 month contract. As a Financial Accountant, you will be responsible for performing multiple accounting duties to ensure monthly reporting requirements are fulfilled within stipulated guidelines. The job holder must have a thorough grounding in bookkeeping, double entry and Financial Accounting principles

Role: Financial Accountant
Pay: £40.00 per hour via Umbrella (Inside IR35)
Location: Newport onsite
Contract: 12 Months – 37 hours per week Monday – Friday (option to work 37 hours over 4 days)
Security Clearance: SC Clearance due to the confidentiality of this role we can only submit British Passport holders.

Job Profile

  • Assist with the group reporting system, ensure P&L and Balance Sheet are accurate and delivered to Group within required deadlines.
  • Balance Sheet reconciliations are performed for general ledger accounts, manage the SAP TB and in line with financial accounting standards.
  • Key month end responsibilities including journal postings, Recoveries, Suspense Account clearing, reporting, Excel management. Support business managers,
  • Ensure month end deadlines are achieved reporting to top management. Ensure compliance with all internal controls
  • Assist with any audit requirements and Statutory Accounts preparation where required
  • Provide support to projects and other business areas to ensure deadlines are met, processes are streamlined. Accounting standards and internal controls are complied with.
  • Provide key support to team members for all aspects of the month end, financial accounting, and reporting.
  • Timely and accurate posting of key financial accounting information
  • Contribute to process improvement where needed
  • Ensure General Ledger Internal control guidelines are met in all general ledger transactions
  • Perform nominated general ledger reconciliations, adjustments and monitor and clear reconciling items
  • Ensure timely reversal of month end journals

Skills/Experience Required

  • Educated/Qualified to ACCA/CIMA/Accounting Qualification.
  • Microsoft Office – Particularly Excel & Word Essential.
  • Ability to work under pressure to strict deadlines whilst maintaining high quality of output.
  • Must be able to maintain relationships during stressful periods
  • Microsoft Office – Particularly Excel & Word Essential.
  • Experience in the Financial Accounting function in a large organisation is important.
  • The job holder must have a thorough grounding in bookkeeping, double entry and Financial Accounting principles.

Desirable

  • SAP experience is desirable
