Job title: HSE Engineer (Part-time)
Location: Eastbourne, East Sussex. 100% onsite.
Contract: Until end of December 2026
Pay: £15.55 per hour PAYE. Plus additional 12.07% holiday pay in addition
Hours: 21 hours per week. Ideally 3 days x 7 hours.

My engineering client requires a contractor with an HSE (Environmental Health & Safety) background to assist them in the office. This is on a part-time basis in central Eastbourne until the end of 2026.

Main responsibilities:

  • Implement and maintain company policies according to local, national and industry environmental, health and safety regulations.
  • Contribute to the design and development of facilities, work areas and work procedures, making environmental, health and safety recommendations accordingly.
  • Prepare, maintain and update environmental policy and procedure manuals.
  • Ensure compliance with all HSE regulations and keep abreast of any changes to laws and regulations that impact the organisation.
  • Serve as a contact with all relevant regulatory bodies.
  • Other general HSE administration tasks as required

Ideal candidate profile:

  • Proven experience of writing policies & procedures, and updating manuals
  • Be able to demonstrate proven capabilities in the field of HSE, ideally in the manufacturing / engineering industries
  • Experience of management systems 14001, 45001 or both
  • Has attended an IOSH Managing safely course (as a minimum)
  • Strong IT skills
