I am looking for a Knitting Technician/Operator to join my fantastic client on a permanent basis. As the Knitting Technician/Operator you will be responsible for operating and running the knitting equipment which consists of a STOLL ADF Flat knitting machine and ancillary assets efficiently, as per project requirements. This equipment will be used to produce metal mesh-based and other technical textile structures

Responsibilities:
- Responsible for machine setup including changing of needle bed, programming of the machine, integration, and operation of yarn feed equipment, etc.
- Programming the machine to produce a variety of weft knitting patterns, monitoring the smooth running to maintain production, and escalating any major problems to line or MAIT manager.
- Conducting sewing and overlocking operations as per project requirements.
- Responsible for documenting and archiving maintenance records for the machine as per procedure and requirements, addressing any ongoing defects and repairing accordingly.
- Assure proper quality of the metal mesh as per manufacturing requirements
- All other duties as requested by your line manager, MAIT Manager or members of the company’s management team
Essential Experience
- Industrial knitting experience, including programming knowledge, on computerised flat knitting machines is required, typically:
> 1 to 8 years (for a technician / operator
> 9 to 15 years (for a senior technician / operator)
- Demonstrable experience with sewing fabrics using sewing machines or similar equipment
- An HND in textile design, knitting, or an equivalent industrial qualification.
- Demonstrable experience of knit pattern design
- Previous experience with programming of flat knitting machines is essential.
- Able to perform and assist with hand-on manufacturing and integration of knitted structures to composite and/or metal components.
- To write and follow procedures, maintain accurate maintenance records, along with design and manufacturing documents.
- It would also be an advantage if you have experience of STOLL ADF machine programming would be desirable, although full training will be given
