Project Engineer (Aerospace)

Seeking an experienced Project Engineer to join a leading aerospace engineering environment in Yeovil, supporting the delivery of complex systems across ECS, Hydraulics and Life Support programmes.

This is a hands-on role where you’ll take ownership of engineering projects from customer request through to final delivery, working closely with internal teams, suppliers, and OEMs.

Role: Project Engineer – Aerospace (Contract)
Location: Yeovil, Somerset. Hybrid after initial onboarding
Hourly rate: £30-£35 per hour PAYE
Contract: Potentially 6 Months Temp to become permanent
Shift: Monday-Friday. 37 hours per week

Main responsibilities:

• Manage projects end-to-end: requirements – proposal – delivery
• Create and maintain project plans, schedules, and milestones
• Collate and interpret customer/OEM requirements
• Coordinate with technical teams and external suppliers
• Review supplier quotes, manage estimations and purchase orders
• Monitor progress to ensure on-time, on-cost delivery
• Lead design reviews, documentation approval, and submissions
• Identify and manage risks and mitigation plans
• Build strong stakeholder relationships across the programme

Ideal candidate profile:

• 4-5 years’ experience in aerospace project engineering
• HNC/HND or Degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering
• Strong understanding of the full engineering lifecycle
• Experience with suppliers and integrated supply chains
• Familiarity with project planning tools (e.g. MS Project)
• Excellent communication and coordination skills
• Confident running and delivering engineering projects independently
• BPSS clearance, DBS check & Drug Screening required prior to starting
• UK or NATO passport holders only due to project restrictions
