An established aerospace organisation is seeking a Senior Design Certification Engineer to lead and support design and certification activities across electrical and avionics disciplines, including EWIS.
This role is ideally suited to a technically authorised professional with prior Technical Check and CVE approval, looking to play a key role within a high-performing DOA environment.

Role: Senior Design Certification Engineer (Avionics / Electrical)
Location: North Hampshire
Shift: Monday to Friday (Office based)
Main responsibilities:
- Lead and oversee design and certification activities related to type design changes and repairs
- Generate, review and approve engineering drawings, compliance data and certification documentation
- Perform Technical Check and CVE authorisation for certification packages in line with UK CAA regulations
- Support compliance demonstration activities across UK CAA, EASA and FAA frameworks
- Ensure all outputs align with internal Design Office Handbook (DOH) and SOPs
- Collaborate closely with Customer Support Engineering (CSE) and other internal stakeholders
- Provide technical guidance, mentoring and training to junior engineers
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives across design and certification processes
- Support aircraft surveys and deputise for senior leadership (HoA / Chief Engineer) when required
Ideal Candidate Profile:
- Proven experience in avionics/electrical design certification, including EWIS
- Previous Technical Check and CVE authorisation (essential)
- Strong knowledge of UK CAA Part 21J DOA processes and certification requirements
- Solid understanding of EASA and FAA regulations, including CS/JAR 25 and CFR Part 25
- Familiarity with bilateral agreements and international certification frameworks
- Experience using AutoCAD, CATIA and MS Office (PLM/SmarTeam advantageous)
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related field (or equivalent experience)
- Strong attention to detail with high levels of professional integrity
- Ability to manage multiple projects and adapt to changing priorities
- Excellent communication skills across technical and non-technical stakeholders
