My client, the Training Academy of one of the world’s leading companies in aircraft design and construction, is looking for:

ROLE: SENSOR INSTRUCTOR ON NH90 NFH HELICOPTERS (EXPERT IN RADAR, FLIR, ELECTRONIC WARFARE, ESM, SONAR AND ACOUSTIC BUOYS)
LOCATION: QATAR
CONTRACT: 1 YEAR

My client needs one theoretical-practical instructor in basic and advanced training activities on sensors on board NH90 NFH helicopters, with particular attention to teaching techniques for the effective use of RADAR, FLIR, Electronic Warfare, SONAR and Acoustic Buoys systems.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES

The main responsibilities of the instructor pilots will be:

  • train in the use of sensors on board helicopters, including systems: RADAR, Electronic Warfare, FLIR, sonar and acoustic buoys.
  • deliver training on the use of sensors to:
    • carry out surveillance and research operations;
    • support military operations;
    • plan and execute missions;
    • monitor the surrounding environment through the interpretation of the data collected;
    • detect and identify potential threats and/or risks for the safety of the aircraft.
  • train on the collaboration with other crew members and cooperating units in order to provide support and information during tactical operations;
  • train on the compliance with standard operating procedures and safety regulations during all activities carried out on board helicopters.

REQUIREMENTS

The role requires a highly qualified and trained individual, capable of successfully managing a wide range of sensors and supporting military operations training, effectively and reliably.

In particular, the following are required:

  • previous work experience in the use of sensors on board military helicopters or equivalent experience in the defense sector;
  • in-depth knowledge of sensors and techniques used for surveillance, acquisition of targets and support for military operations;
  • in-depth knowledge of operating principles and operational capabilities of radar systems, electronic warfare, sonar, acoustic buoys and armament (with particular reference to the MARTE MK2-s, MARTE ER, MU-90 torpedo weapon systems);
  • ability to analyze and interpret data collected by sensors to support operational and tactical decisions;
  • availability to maintain updated knowledge of sensor technologies and techniques by participating in specific training and formative courses;
  • ability to use software and IT tools for the analysis and visualization of sensory data
  • excellent communication skills in English and effective collaboration with other instructors, crew members and ground staff are essential;
  • adequate knowledge of the Mission Preparation and Analysis System (MPAS);
  • ability to work in adverse weather conditions and challenging operating environments.
