Supply Chain & Logistics Lead

-Location: Saudi Arabia, Jeddah.
-Job type: Permanent Fulltime

To be successful in an application you should be able to satisfy the below requirements.

  • Successfully completed a degree in Engineering or Management
  • Demonstrate a minimum of 10 years proven work experience in Supply Chain/Logistics preferably within the aviation sector.
  • Have leadership experience within the Supply Chain function of a Maintenance Repair and Overhaul organisation.
  • Have extensive knowledge / network of engine OEM and USM suppliers.
  • Demonstrate an expert knowledge of project management and creating back-up solutions.

Job Purpose
To lead all aspects of an effective Supply Chain and Logistics for all direct purchase of jet engine, APU, and other engines parts. Ensure that the organisation has long term material forecast & contracts in place to guarantee short lead time and high on time delivery rates in accordance with the laid down quality standards. Additionally manage all suppliers to achieve the goal of long-term material replenishment with optimized purchase conditions. Ensure that the purchased parts are delivered on time and then are kitted in accordance with Aviation Authorities requirements and to our client’s quality system standards.

Specific Responsibilities

  • Manage the effective achievement of the departmental objectives through the leadership of the department.
  • Establish an accurate forecast of parts demand. Adjust the purchasing strategy accordingly. Analyse the quality of the forecast and adjust as needed.
  • Establish a purchasing strategy to ensure maximum on time delivery and minimum cost.
  • Contract management including creation, negotiation and monitoring of contracts for spare parts purchases and outside vendor repair.
  • Creation and implementation of an efficient purchasing process
  • Within the framework of existing policies, make all necessary technical, economic and legal decisions to support the business operations
  • Set up a wide network of Used Serviceable Material suppliers to generate cost savings but maintaining the engine build target
  • Set up an effective logistics network to ensure a high on time delivery rate
  • Establish an effective process to ensure the quick and effective receiving process into the JPC stores
  • Manage the kitting and technical acceptance of parts allocated to engines
  • Implementation of all quality requirements
  • Establish and maintain an effective cost and supplier control system
  • Establish, monitor, report and continuously improve the supplier network against KPIs
  • Analyse operations, market conditions and the changing regulations in order to reduce risk.
  • Establish strategic initiatives to optimize the supply chain and logistic process
  • Responsible for the departments training plan, delivery and effectiveness, in accordance with the changing regulatory environment (continuation training, Human Factors)

Education & Experience

  • Successfully completed a degree in Engineering or Management
