Surface Mount Technology Operator (Nights)

Location: Foundry Lane, Horsham
Shift: Sunday – Thursday. 10pm – 6am (5 nights)
Pay Rate: £15.89 per hour plus holiday pay in addition
NB. Training may be on day shift at £12.71/hr. TBC.
Contract Type: Long-term contract

We are currently recruiting a reliable and detail-oriented SMT Operator to join our manufacturing team on the night shift in Horsham. This is a hands-on role within a fast-paced production environment, involving machine operation, product build, and testing of finished goods in line with Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
This opportunity is suited to candidates seeking long-term, stable night work with the potential to develop skills and progress within the business.

Main Responsibilities:

• Operate SMT and production machines in line with SOPs and standard build times
• Build and test finished goods to required quality standards
• Carry out visual inspections to identify defects
• Use test equipment and accurately interpret pass/fail criteria
• Maintain accurate production and quality records
• Adhere to all safety, quality, and housekeeping procedures

Ideal Candidate Profile:

• Previous experience running machines (SMT experience highly desirable)
• Strong attention to detail and ability to follow written instructions in English
• Good communication skills and the ability to retain and apply information
• Physically able to perform duties involving standing, bending, and light lifting
• Comfortable working in a mixed seated and standing environment
• A positive team player with a strong work ethic

Desirable Experience:

• Background in a manufacturing or production environment
• Experience with APC or manual insertion processes
• Familiarity with test equipment in a production setting
• Experience from manufacturing facilities

• All candidates must pass a drug screening test prior to starting.
