Contract Role: Technical Support Engineer (Aerospace Manufacturing)
Pay: £23 per hour (PAYE only)
Hours: Mon-Fri. 8am-5pm or similar. 37 hrs/week
Contract Length: 12 months+
Location: Yeovil, Somerset. Hybrid working

Seeking an office based Technical Support Engineer (Aerospace Manufacturing)
to provide intermediate-level Configuration Management support within a busy engineering environment.
This role plays a key part in supporting an obsolescence programme, ensuring robust configuration processes and high-quality data integrity across systems.
Many changes have now been defined and need submitting to customers’ portals.
You will report to the Senior Engineering Supervisor and work closely with cross-functional teams to maintain accurate configuration documentation and support engineering activities.
Key Responsibilities
- Support and promote configuration management processes.
- Work collaboratively with cross-functional teams to resolve configuration issues.
- Ensure changes to product configurations are accurately documented, controlled, and communicated to internal and external stakeholders.
- Process design data releases and engineering changes.
- Create and update EBOMs (Engineering Bill of Materials).
- Maintain integrity of EBOM data during transition between PLM (Product Lifecycle Management) and SAP systems.
Ideal Candidate Profile
- Experience in engineering support roles, ideally in the aviation industry (2 years+)
- Strong understanding of PLM and SAP systems
- Good IT skills with the ability to quickly pick up new software
- Excellent attention to detail and documentation accuracy
- Confident communicator with the ability to support internal engineering teams, as well as be able to discuss technical issues with external customers
- An offer to the successful candidate will be subject to passing the following security vetting: Right to work check (UK or NATO passport holders only), 5 years’ referencing, drug screen, BPSS vetting, DBS check.
