My client is offering a permanent opportunity for a Welder to join their team based at their Rosyth site. As the Welder, your main responsibility will be to safely perform welding and related tasks within a production setting.

You’ll work within a supportive team of experienced professionals, contributing to the safe execution of welding activities throughout the Type 31 unit build process. This includes tasks ranging from piece part creation to panel manufacture and whole ship assembly.

Location: Rosyth, Scotland

Hours: Monday to Thursday

07:30-17:15

Security clearance: Must be ale to achieve SC clearance level.

You will have to successfully pass a Welder test regime as part of the recruitment process

What you’ll be doing:

  • Follow standard operating procedures in the safe set up and operation of welding plant
  • Carry out welding tasks in accordance with the essential variables
  • Visual inspection of completed welds to contract acceptance standards and project requirements
  • Maintain welding plant functionality
  • Carry out daily machine checks ensuring that any fault is reported immediately
  • Continually improve processes where required
  • Safely set up and remove any pre-heating equipment
  • Use of digital and thermal temperature recording devices
  • Control of welding consumables tiles in production environments

The Welder role covers but not limited to:

  • GSFCAW process
  • SAW process
  • Arc Air Gouging
  • Grinding/Burning
  • Basic Visual Inspection
  • Control of welding consumables

Requirements:

  • Indentured Welder
  • An understanding of weld defects and causes
  • Perform set up procedures for all welding equipment and accessories to be used on projects
  • Experience with Flux-Cored Arc Welding (FCAW) or MIG
  • Utilising work to risk, COSHH assessments and safe systems of work.
  • Comfortable working at heights and in confined spaces
