Our client has an opportunity for a Workshop Technician to join them on a permanent basis. This role involves not only the technical aspects of metalworking but also requires effective communication and collaboration with customers throughout the projects.

Role: Workshop Technician
Location: Ruislip, Middlesex
Hours: Full Time / Permanent (30 hours working week, Monday – Thursday)
Salary: Discussed Upon Application
Clearance required: The successful candidate must be able to achieve SC security clearance level for this role

What you’ll be doing:

  • Make/Fix/Manufacture anything that is needed on the base
  • Work closely with the SWS Workshop Supervisor ensuring the highest engineering principles and procedures are always followed
  • Always adhere to the RAF Stations’ and Health and Safety policy and directives
  • Provide tuition as required to the Section Apprentice ensuring and a can-do attitude to training and development are always prevalent
  • Any other tasks required to ensure a smooth operation in the SWS Section at Northolt

Required experience / skills:

  • Experience as a Workshop Technician or similar role in operating lathes/milling machines.
  • Experience operating lathes, milling machines, drills/various welding techniques (MIG, TIG, and gas welding)
  • Ability to work on own initiative independently and as part of a team
  • Full UK Manual driving licence
  • Normal colour perception graded as CP2 (can be checked at your local opticians)
