Wheel & Brake Technician (Aviation)

Permanent Aviation Wheel & Brake Technician opportunity available on the west side of Essex.
My well-established client is seeking someone with 6 months’ minimum wheel & brakes overhaul experience to join their busy team. Workshop based role.
Weekday working hours. 3 day weekend every second week!

Role: Aircraft Wheel & Brake Overhaul Mechanic
Location: Stansted
Salary: From £14.77+ per hour depending on experience (= from £29,953 per annum). Overtime available at x1.5.
Hours: 07:30-17:00 Mon-Thurs. 07:30-13:30 every other Friday. Average 39 hours per week.

Main responsibilities:

• Disassembly of aircraft wheels and brakes
• Technical cleaning of all wheel and brake components
• Paint stripping
• Reassembly of wheels, mounting of aircraft tyres including torquing, inflation and pressure testing.
• Reassembly of brake units, function testing and fault isolation.
• Reading and understanding of component maintenance manuals and following technical instructions.

Ideal candidate profile:

• Some previous wheel/brake experience
• Ability to use hand tools safely and accurately follow instructions
• Fluent oral and written English.
• Already holds the right to live and work in the UK at the time of application. No sponsorships can be provided now, or in the future.
